It is a tuff one answer thats pretty far from a WiFi signal. I built Yagis Fi and flat. Some say that the Yagi is better than the record when it comes to distance, but I can tell you firsthand, there's not much difference in the signal and the Yagi antenna is aligned much more difficult. The slightest breeze will reduce this remote connection. I prefer a plate. You can also search for a bilinear amplifier for your platform.
